It’s not filthy just wish they’d pay attention to the cleaning details to make it more hotel like and less apartment like. Would not suggest for couples because it’s loud and the trash bags lay around outside people’s rooms and in front of the elevators (doesn’t quite suggest a getaway). Would recommend for families, people who want to travel with their own food, and groups. It was recently opened so you get the perks of staying at a newer property. It’s not a five star hotel but comparable to the other suite hotels, just with a dishwasher. Wished the cleaning staff did a better job because we found strands of hair in the extra linens provided in the closet and the pocket door to the bathroom was stained and gross. Bathroom has stand up shower and they offer the usual amenities. Although the curtain was reminiscent of a hospital curtain. There is a divider to separate beds from the couch/lounge area. The room itself has a couch that pulls out and then a queen bed (or two if you pick a double bed room). Very convenient if you have young kids or babies and need to feel like you’re at home. Room: they are suites with a full dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Indoor pool for kids and a fitness studio with spin bikes. One set of elevators for the entire hotel so you will do some walking if you’re at the other end of the hallway. Check in is easy and they have complimentary breakfast with a good variety of foods including hard boiled eggs, premade omelets, make your own waffles, cereal, and a variety of breads. Pet fee was actually cheaper than Marriott properties! The location is convenient as there is a grocery store in the adjacent parking lot and a burger joint, pizza place, and Starbucks across the parking lot. The one time non refundable pet fee is $75 but it was worth it for the extra space and newer amenities offered compared to other hotels in the area. We were looking for a dog friendly hotel and this fit the bill. This was a decent place to stay in Champaign. One second it is working fine, the next, not at all… Finally, the furnishings look like the cheap stuff you might find at an IKEA store. And this is so trivial, but this was the first time I have ever checked into a Hilton property and not been thanked or even acknowledged for being a Hilton Honors member. But these doors are set to shake the entire floor when they close. I understand (and want) self closing doors in a hotel. It looks like it is a new building, but there is very little sound proofing between the floors or rooms. They offer a free breakfast which I did not take advantage of, but free is always good, right? The not so good: This is the noisiest Hilton property I have ever stayed in. They have an indoor pool which I didn’t use, but there was no hint of any chlorine smell in the building. The fitness center is very well appointed. I did a very cursory search and counted 22 available outlets! The room was very clean and well lit, and the blinds did a great job of keeping out the sunlight in the morning (which is nice since I was still on “west coast” time during my visit). There were more plug ins for gadgets than any medium size group could use in my room. The good: The room was nicely sized and the bed was super comfortable.
